Principal's Message

First off, thank you for all of the love and support that you have shown our school and community over the past six months. Losing our beloved Principal, Melayne Jones, was an incredibly difficult tragedy to navigate last spring, and we could not have done it without each of you.

Here at Sunrise, it is our goal that each student and staff member look forward to coming to school every day.

In order to do this, we strive to excel in the following areas:

• Safety
• Academics
• Engagement
• Social-emotional learning
• Attendance

This year, we have created a task force for each on of these areas.

Every Sunrise Staff has joined one of these five task forces, and will meet monthly to engage in a continuous improvement cycle. Together, with your support, we will identify areas of improvement and collectively increase our effectiveness within that area.

We expect this to be a truly memorable year, and are so thankful for the opportunity we have to serve this community. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or if you would like to be more involved here at Sunrise. Look out for our invitations to Coffee with the Principals, special events, and our PTA meetings.
